VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System
The Department of Radiology provides limited radiology coverage at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive Division, which is located a quarter of a mile from UPMC Presbyterian. The VA Pittsburgh is a 146-bed medical/surgical tertiary care facility and a national and regional referral center for liver and renal transplantation, cardiac surgery, oncology, radiation therapy, and geriatric care. An active research program in multiple subspecialties including, but not limited to: diagnostic radiology, alcoholism, balance disorders, cardiovascular disorders, computer science, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, nephrology, neurology, oncology, orthopedic surgery, urology and vascular surgery contributes significantly to the clinical and academic atmosphere of the medical center. The VA Pittsburgh is also a training site for the diagnostic radiology residency training program.
